Privacy policy
Effective 23 September 2026
This policy covers Slatewise LLC's apps, this website, and the messages you send us. Each app has its own section below saying exactly what that app does with information, and the same section is published on its own at that app's privacy page.
The short version. What you type into our apps stays on your iPhone, since we don't run a server that could receive it. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Purchases go through Apple, and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives an anonymous ID and your purchase record so it can confirm what you bought. This website sets no cookies.
Paycheck Check
Paycheck Check has no account, no ads and no analytics. The hours and pay you log stay on your iPhone, and the only information that leaves it is the record of a purchase.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone: your jobs, hourly rates and overtime settings, your clock-ins, shifts, breaks, tips and notes, any pay stub amounts you type into the paycheck check, and your reminder times and other preferences. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Pay and overtime are worked out on the phone itself, and since we never receive this information, we can't read it, recover it or delete it for you; it's yours to manage on your device.
Backups
Like most app data, this information is included in your iPhone's backup, whether that's iCloud Backup or a backup to a computer, depending on how your iPhone is set up. Those backups are made and kept by Apple or by your own computer, not by us. The app doesn't sync between devices, but restoring a backup onto a new iPhone brings your hours with you.
Reminders and exports
Shift reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered on your iPhone, and their contents never reach us or a notification server. When you export a timesheet, the file is made on your iPhone and goes only where you send or save it through the share sheet.
Purchases and subscriptions
Paid features are sold as in-app purchases through the App Store, and Apple takes the payment, so we never receive your name, your card, your billing address or your Apple Account. To check a purchase and unlock the paid features, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), which receives the following:

RevenueCat never receives anything you type into the app. It processes this information on our behalf in the United States, and its own practices are described in the RevenueCat privacy policy. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting
- On your iPhone: deleting the app deletes its data. Copies inside earlier backups remain until those backups are deleted, which you control in your iPhone or iCloud settings.
- At RevenueCat: purchase records are kept while they're needed to provide Premium, restore purchases, and keep our legal, tax and accounting records. You can ask us to delete them. Since they aren't linked to your name, we may ask for a detail from your Apple receipt, such as the order ID, so we can find them.
- At Apple: Apple keeps its own record of your purchases under its own policies.
SiteCalc
SiteCalc has no account, no ads and no analytics. Your measurements, jobs, prices, customer details and logo stay on your iPhone, and the only information that leaves it is the record of a purchase.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you type into SiteCalc is stored on your iPhone: dimensions and results, saved jobs, your material prices, your business details and logo, and the names and addresses of any customers you put on an estimate. None of it is sent to us, and since we never receive it, we can't see it, recover it or delete it for you. SiteCalc doesn't sync between devices, so if you'd like a copy somewhere else, SiteCalc Pro can export a backup file for you to keep wherever you choose.
Your logo and photos
When you add a logo, you pick one image and only that image is used. SiteCalc keeps it on your iPhone for your estimates and doesn't read the rest of your photo library.
Files you share, and links you open
An estimate PDF, a CSV or a backup file goes only where you send it, whether that's Mail, Messages or Files, and SiteCalc keeps no copy anywhere else. The source links behind each calculation open the manufacturer's or standards body's own website, and that site's privacy policy applies there.

Templates bought on Etsy
Our templates are sold and delivered through Etsy, which takes the payment and handles the download under Etsy's privacy policy. Etsy passes sellers the details needed to complete an order, and we use those details only for that order, for helping you with it, and for our business records. The template files themselves contain no tracking of any kind.
This website
These pages are static. They set no cookies, and they load no analytics, no third-party scripts and no web fonts from anyone else's servers. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles standard request information, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, in order to deliver and protect the site, and may keep it in logs for security and reliability. We don't use that information to identify you.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send, and we use it only to answer you. We keep that correspondence for as long as we need it to help you and to keep ordinary business records, and then delete it. Please don't send pay stubs or other sensitive documents; describing the problem is enough.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads, and our apps contain no advertising or analytics software.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we don't use the advertising identifier.
- We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
- We don't collect your location, contacts, health information or browsing history.
Children
Our apps are tools for working adults and aren't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and if you believe a child has sent us some, write to us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to a data protection authority. We'll honour those requests wherever the law gives you these rights, and we won't treat you differently for making one. Write to privacy@slatewisestudio.com. In practice, the only personal information we hold is the purchase record at RevenueCat and any emails you've sent us.
If you're in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we rely on the performance of our contract with you to check purchases and provide paid features, and on our legitimate interests to prevent fraud and to understand how many people subscribe. Information handled by RevenueCat is processed in the United States.
Security
What you keep in our apps is protected by your iPhone's own security, such as your passcode and data protection, and our apps talk to RevenueCat only over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we collect as little as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a change affects what an app collects, such as adding a new service, we'll say so in that app's update notes before it takes effect and update its privacy details on the App Store.
