Our apps and Apple's licence

Your use of our iPhone apps is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), an agreement between you and Slatewise LLC. The points below add to it, and where the two conflict, the Standard EULA wins.

Estimates, not advice

Our apps are calculators. Everything they show is an estimate built from what you enter and the settings you choose, and none of it is legal, tax, financial, engineering or other professional advice.

Paycheck Check

• Hours, pay and overtime figures are estimates. The overtime presets are our reading of published US federal and state rules; each shows its source and the conditions it assumes, and a preset may be out of date, incomplete, or not apply to you, for example because of an exemption, an alternative workweek, a union contract or your employer's own policies. Every value can be edited.
• The built-in rules are US rules. If you work outside the US, setting thresholds and multipliers that match your situation is up to you.
• Always check results against your pay stub, and before acting on a difference, such as raising it with your employer or filing a claim, confirm it with your employer, your labor office or a qualified professional.

SiteCalc

• Quantities and costs are estimates built from your dimensions, the published figures cited in the app, and the prices you enter. Actual needs vary with site conditions, forms, compaction, product and waste.
• Follow the manufacturer's directions and check quantities with your supplier before ordering. SiteCalc doesn't replace an engineer's design or your local building code, and any estimate you send a customer is yours to check before it goes out.

Subscriptions

Paid features are sold through Apple as auto-renewing subscriptions, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, the period and any free trial are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or at the end of a free trial. A subscription renews automatically unless it's cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings; deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription, and refunds are handled by Apple.

Templates

Our templates are sold and delivered through Etsy, and Etsy's terms of use apply to buying them. What you may do with the files you receive, such as how many copies you may use and whether you may share them, is stated on each template's listing. Pricing templates give estimates, and résumé templates are a starting point for your own writing; neither guarantees a result.

This website

This site is here to describe our products and to publish our policies. We try to keep it accurate, but prices, features and release plans can change, and the App Store or Etsy listing is the final word on what you're buying.

Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Slatewise LLC isn't liable for decisions you make, pay you do or don't receive, or materials you buy or don't buy, based on our products' estimates. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law that can't be limited by agreement.
